Portsmouth not to beat Luton –

In another heavyweight clash, back Luton to escape Fratton Park with at least a point.

The visitors lost just one of their last nine matches on their way to promotion from League Two last season, and avoided defeat at all of the other three promoted sides.

Portsmouth won just three of their last 10 home matches of last season, and this is about as difficult an opening game as they could have been handed.

Shrewsbury not to beat Bradford –

Shrewsbury were spiralling by the end of last season, and have been weakened over the summer to the extent that their chances of starting well are slim.

Having won just one of the last six matches of the league season proper, the Shrews lost manager Paul Hurst to Ipswich and a string of important first-team players.

By contrast, the signing of Jack Payne - and several others - should improve Bradford, who look a big price not to lose the game.

Northampton not to beat Lincoln -

Having finished their first season back in League Two in the play-off positions, Lincoln have improved further in the transfer market enough to start this season quickly.

Danny Cowley's side lost just two of their last 12 league games of last season, with the signings of Harry Toffolo and John Akinde clear statements of intent.

Northampton won just one of their last eight home matches on their way to relegation from League One, and this looks a tough match in which to reverse that trend.

Oldham not to beat MK Dons –

MK Dons look to have emerged from relegation to League Two in decent shape, hiring Paul Tisdale as their new manager and adding good players to a squad that should never have gone down.

Kieran Agard, in particular, should be dangerous at this level, and can do the damage at Oldham on Saturday.

The Latics have emerged from early-summer crisis to do some decent transfer business, but the Dons will rarely be available at such a good price to avoid defeat this season.
