Italy to beat Sweden –

Had it not been for sharing a group with Spain, Italy would have qualified for the World Cup with ease.

The Azzurri finished 10 points above third-placed Albania and have won nine of their last 12 matches.

Sweden lost to the Netherlands in their last group game and have managed just two victories in their last five, against Belarus and Luxembourg respectively.

Germany to beat England –

England have not been fluent under Gareth Southgate and could only beat Slovakia, Slovenia and Lithuania by one goal.

The Three Lions have also failed to win any of their last three friendlies, losing against France and Germany and blowing a two-goal lead at home to Spain last November.

Germany are unbeaten in 19 and spanked Azerbaijan 5-1 in their last match to record their seventh consecutive victory.

France to beat Wales –

Wales’ 1-0 defeat at home to the Republic of Ireland last month ended their hopes of making next summer’s World Cup.

Although that was their first defeat in nine, it was also the sixth game they failed to win.

France have won 16 and lost just one of their last 19 matches on home soil and are the biggest banker of the weekend.

Honduras to beat Australia –

It doesn’t look good for Australia, who were taken to extra time by Syria in their preliminary qualifier after drawing both legs 1-1.

Along with that narrow victory, Ange Postecoglu’s side have only beaten Thailand, Saudi Arabia and the UAE in their last 14 matches.

Honduras beat Mexico in October to secure a play-off spot in their final qualifier and are unbeaten in five at home.
