#BetYourWay: 9 bets for Thursday's World Cup qualifiers
Make it a profitable evening with a variety of tips from the first bout of October internationals.
This season, several matches will be valid for our BetYourWay promotion, where customers can request tailor-made bets for individual games.
Here are our selections for this Thursday's matches.
England v Slovenia – Thursday (ITV1, 19.45)
England to win 1st half –
England have led at half-time in four of their five Wembley matches under Gareth Southate, including against Spain. It’s difficult to envisage any other scenario here.
Harry Kane to score anytime –
After plundering 13 goals in September, Kane has a reputation to live up to. We don’t expect him to fall short.
Raheem Sterling to score anytime –
Sterling - who is playing his best football since 2014 - has scored six times already this season, and now needs to translate it onto the international stage.
Scotland v Slovakia – Thursday (Sky Sports Main Event, 19.45)
Draw –
Scotland have won three of their last four matches, but the absence of Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong downgrades this from a likely win to a draw.
Leigh Griffiths to score anytime –
Griffiths has three in three for Scotland – benefitting, perhaps, from the introduction of several Celtic team-mates into the team – so is the obvious bet to score again.
Under 4.5 cards -
Scotland’s games have not been particularly tempestuous of late, with Brown’s absence decreasing the chances of many cards even further.
Northern Ireland v Germany – Thursday (Sky Sports Football, 19.45)
Germany win to nil –
Northern Ireland’s success has been based on brilliant defending rather than lots of goals, but Germany should have the quality to negate that on Thursday.
Under 2.5 goals –
Considering Michael O’Neill’s side have kept clean sheets in seven of their eight group games – and only lost 2-0 in Germany - it is fair to assume the visitors won’t run away with this one.
Lars Stindl to score anytime –
In Timo Werner’s absence, Stindl should start and is a good bet to cash in on a supply line featuring Leroy Sane and Julian Draxler.
