England to beat Sweden –

Two friendly defeats against France and Germany aside, England are flying.

The Young Lions, who were unbeaten in qualifying, have won five of their last seven and lost just twice in 13.

Sweden, meanwhile, are struggling.

Hakan Ericson’s side lost two of their last three and managed just three win in their last seven.

Portugal to beat Serbia –

Serbia only booked their place via the play-off round, and are unlikely to make much of a dent at the tournament.

The international minnows drew 0-0 with Israel in a warm-up friendly last week and have won just one of their last four.

Against a Portugal side that is unbeaten in 14, winning 11, they ought to be worried.

Spain to beat Macedonia –

This match also looks a walkover.

Spain, whose squad is packed with world-class talent, go into the tournament in impressive form having won four of their last six and losing just once in 17.

They should have far too much for Macedonia, who are appearing in their first ever U21 European Championships.

The eastern Europeans have won just one of their last four competitive matches and will be beaten here.

Germany to beat Czech Republic –

Germany have won 14 of their last 16 matches in all competitions and are absolutely flying.

Czech Republic look unlikely to stop them.

While Vitezslav’s Lavicka’s side have won four out of six, they have only managed three wins in eight matches at tournament finals.
