England win to nil -

Italy have failed to score in three consecutive matches, and only managed to put one past Israel, Macedonia and Albania before that.

England’s new-look back three looked solid against the Netherlands on Friday, while the hosts kept clean sheets at home to Germany and Brazil in November.

Dele Alli to score -

The visitors still don’t concede many – just four in their last six matches – and should be wily enough to deny likely-starter Jamie Vardy the space he enjoys in behind.

That leaves the onus on Gareth Southgate’s craftier players to make the difference. Alli is at the top of that list.

No cards

Neither England’s game in Holland nor Italy’s against Argentina produced any cards on Friday.

Referees are reluctant to produce them in friendly matches, so it is worth backing more of the same on Tuesday.

Under 8.5 corners

The same matches involved fewer than 8.5 corners, and that is unlikely to change at Wembley.

The Three Lions’ last home match against Brazil produced just two corners, while neither leg of the Italians’ World Cup play-off tie against Sweden in November featured any more than eight.
