Spain to beat Wales

Wales have won just two of their last eight matches, against China and an injury-hit Republic of Ireland.

Their job will be made even harder by the absence of Gareth Bale, without whom they have managed just one victory in 12.

Spain started with two wins from two under Luis Enrique last month, including a 6-0 drubbing of World Cup runners up Croatia, and are unbeaten in their last 26 matches within 90 minutes.

Faroe Islands to win or draw v Azerbaijan

Faroe Islands extended their unbeaten record at home to five matches in the last international break by beating Malta 3-1.

They should at least avoid defeat against Azerbaijan, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Malta in their last away game and have won just one of their last five on the road.

Kosovo to win to nil v Malta

Kosovo’s 2-0 win at home to Faroe Islands last month was their fifth victory in a six-match unbeaten run and fifth consecutive clean sheet.

They should breeze past Malta, who have lost 21 of their last 25 away games and scored just six goals in that period.

Romania to win to nil v Lithuania

Back-to-back draws against Serbia and Montenegro in the previous international break extended Romania’s unbeaten run to six matches.

They had won each of their last four matches prior to that and have kept three clean sheets in that sequence.

Lithuania have lost 13 of their last 16 matches and have failed to score in 12 of those.

Russia to beat Sweden

Russia won back-to-back matches in the last international break, including a 5-1 victory over Czech Republic in their first home game since the World Cup.

That result means Stanislav Cherchesov’s side have lost just one of their last seven matches in Russia.

Sweden were beaten by both Austria and Turkey last month and have lost all three of their matches since a 1-0 victory over Switzerland in the last-16 of the World Cup.
