Germany U21 to beat England U21 –

This is probably the toughest of the four matches to call, but Germany should edge out England.

Stefan Kuntz’s side beat Czech Republic and Denmark in routine fashion to claim their six group-stage points, before tamely losing to Italy in the knowledge that the 1-0 defeat would send them through anyway.

England, meanwhile, produced their best performance of the tournament in their final group match, beating Poland 3-0, but have proved themselves more fallible.

Aidy Boothroyd’s side only just overcame Slovakia, having been held to an unconvincing 0-0 draw with Sweden, and will likely be without key pair Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Redmond for this game.

That could be the fatal blow for the Three Lions.

Spain U21 to beat Italy U21 –

Spain made light work of their group to reach the semi-finals, and should continue their smooth progress against Italy.

Albert Celades’ side scored nine goals and conceded just one in winning their group with three victories out of three, with Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio a huge influence.

Italy, meanwhile, beat Germany to qualify on Saturday, but are inconsistent.

Luigi Di Biagio’s side have not won consecutive matches since March 2016, including defeat to Spain just three months ago, and surprisingly lost to Czech Republic in this competition.

This one is only going one way.

Portugal to beat Chile –

Portugal actually look a better side than they did while winning Euro 2016 last summer.

Bernardo Silva and Andre Silva are now on the scene to support Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, combining nicely to see off New Zealand 4-0 on Saturday.

Significantly, Fernando Santos’ side have only drawn a blank once since their underdog victory in Paris, scoring two or more in every other match bar the 1-0 win over Russia in this tournament.

Chile, meanwhile, have only won one of their last five matches, including a surprise draw against Australia on Sunday.

Germany to beat Mexico –

The world champions may not be at full strength, but it is quickly becoming clear that they have a significant shot at winning the main prize.

Joachim Low’s side – still boasting Emre Can, Julian Draxler and Timo Verner – eased to victory over Cameroon on Sunday, while knockout success is simply in their DNA.

Mexico, meanwhile, unconvcingly progressed to this stage, coming from behind to beat both Russia and New Zealand 2-1.

At odds-against value, you have to be all over the Germans.
