Portugal v Chile - Wednesday (ITV1, 19.00)

Portugal to score over 1.5 goals –

Remarkably, only twice since winning Euro 2016 have Portugal failed to score two or more goals in a match.

After putting four past New Zealand in their last game, another goal glut should follow against Chile.

Chile to score 1 or 2 goals –

Chile have proved their significant goal threat enough to back them, too.

With Alexis Sanchez leading the line, a goal or two is well within their grasp.

Portugal (-1) –

Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Adrien Silva, the European champions are flying through this tournament, and should progress to the final comfortably.

Back them to repeat the New Zealand trick, and win this game by at least a goal.

Germany v Mexico - Thursday (ITV1, 19.00)

media

Germany (-1) –

After seeing off Cameroon by two goals on Sunday, Germany appear to be finding their best form.

Against Mexico, who have laboured to this stage, they should win easily.

Germany to win and both teams to score –

The Mexicans have, admittedly, proved themselves to be a goal threat, scoring twice in all of their group-stage matches.

A goal or two for Juan Carlos Osorio’s side should not be enough against considerably better opposition, though.

Half time/Full time: Germany/Germany –

A similar theme, but more good value.

Mexico have gone behind in the first half against New Zealand and Russia so far in this competition, and a repeat would be terminal this time.

England U21 v Germany U21 - Tuesday (Sky Sports 1, 17.00)

media

Germany/Draw and both teams to score –

The impressive Germans are unlikely to lose this one in 90 minutes, but that does not mean it will be easy.

England found their best attacking form against Poland last time out, so should at least contribute to the goals tally here.

Goal in both halves –

At only just odds-on value, it is well worth backing goals from the start in this one.

Germany found the net five times in the group stage, while England netted in both 45-minute periods of their win over Poland.

Germany (-1) –

That they had virtually qualified before Saturday’s game with Italy explains Germany’s drop off in performance.

Having previously registered 2-0 and 3-0 victories, a heavy win is worth a punt at good odds.

Spain U21 v Italy U21 - Tuesday (Sky Sports 1, 20.00)

media

Spain/Spain –

Spain cruised through their group in first gear, collecting nine points and scoring nine goals.

Against a topsy-turvy Italy side, they should take a customary first-half lead and win.

Spain to score 3+ goals –

Having scored three or more goals in three of their last five matches – and twice in this tournament – Albert Celades’ side should flourish again.

Italy proved their vulnerability in losing 3-1 to Czech Republic last week, too.

Italy to score 1 or 2 goals –

Despite their relative struggles, Italy have scored once or twice in all of their tournament matches so far.

That was also the case when these two teams met in March.
