Spain have lit up the tournament in bursts and go into the game at Eden Park as favourites despite being the lower-ranked side.

Spain to win

If the quarter-finals taught us anything it's that the better the teams, the higher the stakes, the closer the contests, and there is no reason to think this will be anything else.

Spain needed extra-time to see off Netherlands in the last eight, while the Swedes were hanging on to a 2-1 win against Japan.

The other near-certainty is that it will be Spain doing the bulk of the attacking and firing off the most shots, because that would be very much in keeping with how these finals have mapped out.

Spain are averaging over 24 shots per 90 minutes, far more than any other side has managed and twice as much as the Swedish output.

Jorge Vilda's team are the tournament's top scorers and in a game that will likely be decided by a flash of class from somewhere, they hold the aces. If they keep firing shots – and Jenni Hermoso and four of her team-mates have all unloaded more shots than Sweden's most prolific shooter, Filippa Angeldahl – then even Sweden's outstanding goalkeeper Zecira Musovic could eventually buckle.

Spain also have greater attacking options off the bench and are looking like a side ready to rule the world. It should be tight but Spain look the classier of the two.

Jonna Andersson to make three or more tackles

Sweden's defenders are going to be busy repelling the waves coming their way, left-back Jonna Andersson among them.

The veteran Hammarby and ex-Chelsea full-back has been part of a decent Sweden defence who have managed to shut out Italy, Argentina and the United States at these finals.

Andersson has certainly been busy in the knockout phase with five tackles against the US (in a game that went to penalties) and two more against the Japanese.

And she will be putting in more tackles against Spain, who are second only to Colombia as the most tackled team in the tournament.

Up against Aitana Bonmati and Alba Redondo, it seems logical to think she will make at least three tackles over the course of 90 minutes.
