Tottenham v Stoke –

Tottenham’s Premier League form at Wembley continues to underwhelm, and they are by no means certainties to see off Stoke on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side edged past Bournemouth and Crystal Palace earlier in the season, before being held to a 1-1 draw by managerless West Brom and failing to win two subsequent away matches.

Stoke have already taken points from Arsenal and Manchester United this term, and are capable of a defensive rearguard that will frustrate their hosts.

Middlesbrough v Ipswich –

Middlesbrough have been a big let-down this season, failing to beat several opponents like the one they will face on Saturday.

Garry Monk’s side have only beaten teams in the bottom seven at home since 12 August, failing to overcome top-half teams in Preston, Brentford, Cardiff and Derby during that time.

Ipswich have won their last two – including a victory at Derby, who beat Boro 3-0 a fortnight ago – and experienced manager Mick McCarthy is capable of blunting the hosts’ main threat in Britt Assombalonga.

Valencia v Celta Vigo –

Valencia’s early-season bubble appears to have burst during the last fortnight, and more frustration may be imminent against Celta Vigo.

The hosts surrendered a lead in their last home game against Barcelona, and last week’s defeat at Getafe suggests a decline may have begun.

Ominously, Celta Vigo drew 2-2 away at the Nou Camp last weekend, so are capable of another positive result against one of the league’s best teams.

Real Madrid v Sevilla –

Real Madrid have only won four of their last nine matches, and continue to fall behind in the La Liga title race.

Zinedine Zidane’s side drew 0-0 at Athletic Bilbao last time out, but have conceded twice in all of their last three matches at the Bernabeu, including to Malaga and second-tier Fuenlabrada.

Sevilla have only lost one of their last four away games – a narrow 2-1 defeat at Barcelona – so are certainly capable of at least a point on Saturday.
