Big decisions:

It’s wildcard week for me, and I’m expecting a surge up the table after assembling a monster of a team.

Sadio Mane and Dele Alli are two of the few players who have held on to their place amid the overhaul. I think they could end the season as the two highest-scoring midfielders, and they’ve each got some nice fixtures coming up.

Alongside them is Watford’s Richarlison – who’s already recorded a goal and an assist in 210 Premier League minutes and is available at a paltry £6m – and Michail Antonio.

Up top, I’ve kept faith with Harry Kane for the sole reason that it’s no longer August, and brought in Roberto Firmino as a much cheaper and probably more effective replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

Big decisions:

Using my wildcard a week before the transfer deadline and international break was a poor decision and, with an new raft of players to pick from, I’m left counting the cost.

Given the lads scored just 25 points in the last gameweek, I could certainly use a few arrivals to freshen the place up.

I used my free transfer on bringing in Sadio Mane, who has been on fire so far this season. He comes in for Kevin De Bruyne, who I’ve lost patience with after three weeks of anonymity.

But then, disaster struck as it was announced Chancel Mbemba had picked up an injury on international duty. With Miguel Britos also suspended after his red card against Brighton, I’ve been left no choice but to take a four-point hit and to bring in Charlie Daniels.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane retains the armband for hoodoo-related reasons explained by Jack.

Big decisions:

It’s been a slow start to the season and, with the rest of the lads all using their wildcards, I’m in danger of getting left behind.

For that reason, I’ve decided to twist as well.

As was always the risk, I’ve got too much money tied up in my strikers, so I’ve had to let one go.

Somewhat controversially, I’m sticking with Alexandre Lacazette over Harry Kane because a) he’s cheaper and b) he’s got a much easier match this weekend.

So here’s hoping Arsene Wenger actually plays his record signing from the off this time and Kane’s wait to get off the mark drags on a little longer.

But it’s all about the Liverpool lads for me, with two of their first-choice front three being welcomed into the fold with open arms.

The Reds look electric going forward no matter who they’re facing, so I’m pretty confident they’ll prove a consistent source of points.

It’s also last-chance-saloon time for Anthony Knockaert, who I was hoping would be my under-the-radar superstar.

Now fit and starting and with a nice-looking fixture at home to West Brom, it’s time for him to justify his place in the squad.

Big decisions:

In cricketing parlance, captains are encouraged not to "follow the ball", meaning that they should stick to their pre-prepared plan rather than continuously sending fielders where the ball has just been hit by the batsman.

The idea has never made sense to me. Of course it must be best to react to what is happening, rather than stubbornly let the game get away from you.

Which is why I’ve followed the ball by playing my wildcard after just three Gameweeks, now that we have a much better idea of who is worth having.

Mohamed Salah, Christian Eriksen and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all come into midfield after good starts, and are joined by Eden Hazard.

If that doesn't fire, the game's gone.
