It’s time to be cut-throat after a few bad weeks. That means saying goodbye to one of my best performers of the season.

Raheem Sterling’s been great all year but, in truth, I should have binned him when he was injured last week. Riyad Mahrez comes in to replace him.

To fund that move I’ve replaced Cesar Azpilicueta with Nicolas Otamendi, who scores just as many points at a fractionally cheaper price.

Harry Kane takes the armband again.

Big decisions:

I don’t love the look of my team but, with nobody affordable I desperately want to bring in and a strange gameweek to come, I’m holding fire on the transfer front.

I’ve dropped David De Gea and Andrew Robertson to the bench and kept faith with Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Jesse Lingard, so here’s hoping we don’t get another snooze-fest between Manchester United and Liverpool.

I fancy Glenn Murray to continue a run of eight goals in 10 games against Everton and, who knows, Mat Ryan might even keep a first clean sheet in nine games against Sam Allardyce’s stunted side.

My cost-cutting strategy of replacing Nicolas Otamendi with Danilo backfired last week, but the Brazilian ought to get a recall after Oleksandr Zinchenko was lucky to stay on the pitch against Chelsea.

Team: Another New Dawn

Big decisions:

Now I know how Gareth Southgate feels.

John Stones’ lack of action must be concerning the England manager, and it’s irritated me enough that a change has been made.

Newcastle’s Florian Lejeune comes in, with home games against Southampton and Huddersfield to come this month.

I’m unchanged elsewhere, though I am relying on Oumar Niasse doing something off the Everton bench if Ben Davies is rested at Bournemouth, which I suspect he will be.

Big decisions:

Despite a couple of disappointing weeks, I’m holding back on any transfers so I can have a crack with two next time.

Cesar Azpilicueta has got considerable work to do to convince me he’s worth his lofty pricetag.

I’m pretty happy with last week’s decision to swap Raheem Sterling for Leroy Sane and he should rake in the points against Stoke.

Callum Wilson remains in the team purely because of Bournemouth’s hectic fixture schedule. As always, Harry Kane is captain.

Team: Pascal Vegan

Big decisions:

Paul Pogba’s out, Son Heung-min’s in.

Son’s scored five goals in his last three outings, including twice in the Premier League against Huddersfield last weekend. Now first choice in the Spurs team, he looks great value at £8.1m.

Both he and Harry Kane (captain) can do bits at Bournemouth this weekend, while I also fancy Marko Arnautovic to be in the points when West Ham host Burnley.
