Bournemouth to score first -

United are prone to defensive lapses away from home, and have conceded first in their last four Premier League matches on the road.

Bournemouth took an early lead against Tottenham last month, which was the last time they welcomed a top-four side to the south coast.

Manchester United to win -

United have overturned two-goal deficits to win their last two away matches, against Palace and Man City. And, while they were easily stifled by a resolute West Brom at the weekend, Bournemouth’s expansive playing style will help them here.

The Cherries’ home ground is not a tough place to go. They’ve won just six of their 17 league matches at the Vitality Stadium, and went on to ship four in that game against Spurs.

Chris Smalling to score

Jose Mourinho said he would make changes following his side’s 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom on Sunday, but Smalling is almost certain to be retained, having started every league match he has been available for since September.

The defender produced fine finishes when netting in the comeback victories at Palace and City, and is one of United’s biggest threats from set pieces.
