Big decisions:

Just one change for me this week as I work my way towards using the wildcard at the end of the month.

The Chaz Daniels experiment has very much failed, with the Bournemouth defender bringing in a grand total of one point since I brought him into the side in December.

With the Cherries playing Arsenal on Sunday, I’ve binned the full-back in favour of Rob Holding, who’s back in favour for the Gunners and costs a meagre £4.5m.

Jonjoe Kenny‘s been a real bargain for me but I’ve dropped him to the bench this week ahead of a trip to Spurs, with Holding, Andreas Christensen and Zanka making up the back three.

I’m unchanged elsewhere, and you can probably guess who gets the captain’s armband.

Team: Another New Dawn

Big decisions:

Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona has forced my hand this week, but replacement Paul Pogba is significantly cheaper and coming into form.

If the Frenchman continues from where he left off at Everton at new year, he could be a coup at £7.9m.

Hopefully Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be fit for Crystal Palace v Burnley, but either he or Dele Alli could be upgraded next week at the expense of one of my four expensive defenders.

There aren’t too many impressive striking options doing the rounds at the moment, so I’m happy with Harry Kane up there on his own with the armband.

Team: The Cleegulls

Big decisions:

Like many others, I’m bringing in Jessie Lingard this week.

The boy’s on fire with eight goals in his last 10 appearances and, playing in an advanced position alongside the misfiring Romelu Lukaku, represents excellent value at just £6.3m.

Nicolas Otamendi doesn’t make the starting line-up on the basis that he’s unlikely to keep a clean sheet at Anfield, but he is guaranteed to make an impact as a substitute.

Provided Mohamed Salah and Marko Arnautovic both recover from slight niggles, I’m in the unusual position of having a fully-fit and available squad to choose from.

For that reason, I’ve decided to play my bench boost, with Ben Foster, Angelo Ogbonna and Marouane Fellaini also having a part to play in helping me break into the office top four.

Harry Kane keeps the armband, obviously.

Manager: Will Rook

Team: Sheffield Old Boys

Big decisions:

I’m resisting the siren call of the wildcard for another week, but my hand could be forced in the near future if my big players don’t perform.

Despite his recent impressive performances, Eden Hazard isn’t bringing in enough points to justify his lofty pricetag.

I’ll be looking for a hefty return from the Belgian this weekend if he is to keep his place.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, is on the way out.

The Everton forward was relatively cheap at £5.4m, but I think Laurent Depoitre will be a better investment.

Elsewhere, I’ve apologised to Harry Kane for ever taking the armband off him and told him it’ll never happen again.

Big decisions:

How to improve a season that has been mediocre?

Well, bringing in Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero is a fine place to start.

Pogba was brilliant in his last league outing at Everton, where he assisted twice, while Aguero has scored in each of his last three games and is now an undisputed starter following Gabriel Jesus’ injury.

Harry Kane captains the side, although he’s typically not delivered when I’ve handed him the armband in the past.

My team needs a wildcard, but my plan is to wait until the end of January transfer window before acting.
