Lincoln, Notts County, Netherlands, Switzerland all to win - £5 at 11/4

Lincoln and Notts County are both at home to teams that have failed to win any of their last eight matches, making them obvious inclusions in my banker.

Switzerland and the Netherlands should both register must-win victories against lowly opposition, too.

Southend or draw, Belgium or draw, Bradford, Wigan and Stevenage to win - £5 at 35/1

Southend head to Doncaster having won four games in a row, while I can’t imagine that Belgium will ever be a longer price not to lose to inferior opposition.

Bradford and Wigan tend to be safe bets in League One, while Stevenage are going under the radar in League Two and should beat Crewe, who have lost their last six.

Rochdale, Oxford, Mansfield and Newport all to win: £10 at 23/1

Forget the international break and short-priced favourites, I’m all about the value on offer in the Football League this week.

Rochdale are strong at home and Rotherham are rubbish away, so this is my bet of the week.

Oxford returned to form with a 4-1 thrashing of Peterborough last weekend and have an ideal follow-up fixture against notoriously poor travellers AFC Wimbledon.

Mansfield look to be finally coming good after beating league leaders Notts County last time out, while Newport are yet to lose at home and Yeovil have lost all but one away.

Ambitious, admittedly, but the logic all stands up.

Bradford or draw, Wigan, Shrewsbury, Notts County and Portugal (-3) to win: £10 at 20/1

Starting with my lads, I expect Bradford to earn at least a draw against a side with just one point in five from sides outside the bottom eight.

Wigan and Shrewsbury are the top two in League One and have been beating teams for fun recently, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon.

Down in League Two, table-toppers Notts County are as big a home banker as you can get this weekend.

Finally, if Portugal aren’t thrashing Andorra then football is broken.

Belgium to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina: £10 at

Belgium have nowt to play for, but I like both their chances and price.

Roberto Martinez’s side have qualified for next year’s World Cup emphatically, claiming 22 points from eight games (with a +32 goal difference to boot).

Bosnia have won three of their four home games without conceding, but the standard of opposition – Estonia, Cyprus, Gibraltar and Greece – have been vastly inferior to Belgium.

Switzerland to beat Hungary to nil, Belgium to beat Bosnia with under 3.5 total goals - £10 at 5/1

Just a double for me this week as I attempt to climb back into the black.

Switzerland have won eight of eight in qualifying, conceding three goals in total and none at home.

If they don’t keep a clean sheet against Hungary – who lost 1-0 to Andorra in their last away game – then I must be cursed.

I’m also banking on Belgium to remain unbeaten in qualifying by winning in Bosnia.

Roberto Martinez’s side have only conceded three goals so far, while Bosnia are yet to let one in on home turf, so a low-scoring victory for the visitors is a solid bet.
