Bradford and Brentford both to win: £10 at 31/20*
Nice and simple for me this week.
Yeovil have just 11 fit senior players this weekend – including two goalkeepers – so should be dumped out of the cup by Bradford, who are League One’s best away team.
Brentford may make a few changes, but will still be too strong for a Notts County side whose priority is not this competition either.
Fulham and Southampton to both score, Roma and Atalanta to both score, Sampdoria to win: £10 at 9/2*
Fulham have scored 12 and let in six in their last four games, and there will be goals at both ends when they host a Southampton side that have both scored and conceded in eight of their last 10.
I’m expecting more goals in the Serie A game between Roma and Atalanta.
The Giallorossi have scored in nine successive home games and let in four in their last three, and now take on an Atalanta side that have been involved in the league’s second-most BTTS games.
Finally, I’m backing Sampdoria to spoil Benevento’s fun after the Serie A whipping boys got their first win last weekend.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side have still only picked up four points in total all season, and it’s hard to see them beating Sampdoria, who beat SPAL 2-0 last time out.
Leicester, Bradford and Plymouth to win and Bristol City to win or draw against Watford: £10 at 16/1*
Leicester have already beaten two Championship sides in the EFL Cup this season, so shouldn’t have any trouble against a League One side that has lost three on the spin at home.
Bradford should also progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup, as they take on a Yeovil side that has lost nine home games out of 13.
In League One, Bury have lost five on the spin without scoring and are five points adrift at the bottom. Plymouth should stroll home.
Bringing us home, Bristol City are great value to avoid defeat at Vicarage Road – a ground they have already won at this season.
Fulham to win or draw against Southampton and BTTS, Plymouth to beat Bury: £10 and 5/1*
Southampton are without a win in nine, though they have managed to score against everybody other than Chelsea and Manchester United during that run.
Fulham are certainly in good enough form to cause an upset, with three wins and a draw in their last four that have seen them score 12 goals.
They have, though, kept just two clean sheets since August.
I also think Plymouth’s price to beat Bury is the best on offer this weekend.
The Pilgrims have won four in a row at home while their rock-bottom visitors have lost their last five games to nil.
