Liverpool to win or draw against Manchester City, Charlton to beat Southend, Barnet to beat Cambridge: £10 at 10/1*

I’ll admit to getting a bit greedy last week after trying to bump up the odds of a double that would have proved successful on its own.

So this week I’m sticking exclusively to the bets that leapt out straight out when scanning the sportsbook.

Liverpool just don’t lose to big teams under Jurgen Klopp, while City only managed to win one of their home matches against the top eight last season.

Charlton have won four of five matches this season, and should continue their perfect home record against a Southend team that have conceded eight goals in their last two away games, one of which was against a completely toothless Gillingham.

Finally, my former employers Barnet got one of the results of the weekend last time out with a 4-1 win at Swindon.

I fancy them to do the business at home to Cambridge, who have only mustered three goals in five matches so far.

Middlesbrough and Oxford both to win: £10 at 2/1*

There’s no messing around from me this week after I lost my stake last time around.

I’m backing two sides that should record comfortable victories against strugglers in their respective divisions.

I’ll see you this time next week with a bit of profit in my back pocket.

Over 2.5 goals in Manchester City v Liverpool, Leicester v Chelsea and Arsenal v Bournemouth: £10 at 3/1*

I’m celebrating the return of the Premier League by sticking exclusively to the top flight this weekend.

Saturday has some cracking games on offer and I fancy plenty of goals.

With how good Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have been going forward – and how bad Arsenal and Bournemouth are at the back – I can’t see any possible way this doesn’t come in.

Lump on.

Real Madrid (-1), Juventus (-1), Bayern Munich, Barcelona (-1): £5 at 3/1*

My strategy here is fairly obvious: back the big boys.

The four best teams in Europe (don’t @ me) should do the business.

Tottenham, Watford/Draw, Middlesbrough, Wolves, Blackburn: £5 at 38/1*

Tottenham – in September, away from Wembley – are hoodoo-free at Goodison Park so should win.

Watford are unbeaten so far, while I also fancy three top Football League sides.
