Every week this season, two West Ham fans will compete against each other to win money for a charity close to their hearts.

James Jones and Will Pugh from the 'We Are West Ham' podcast will go head-to-head by picking their Fantasy Football teams every week, making sure to select at least one player from West Ham.

Their points will be totted up every week, and the highest-scoring team at the end of the 38 Gameweeks will be declared the winner, with Betway donating £1,000 to their chosen charity.

Who will come out on top? Here’s who the Hammers fans have selected for Gameweek 3.

James' team

GK: Turner

DEF: Estupinan, Saliba, Chilwell, Gvardiol

MID: Mitoma, Salah (c), Rashford, Saka

FW: Haaland, Joao Pedro

It wasn’t my best week, but I did beat Will by two points, so I’m happy with the 57 I got. Captaining Mo Salah over Haaland paid off!

That takes my total to 140 points after two gameweeks. If I average 70 points a week between now and May, I’ll be in line for the word title, let alone beating Will. One can dream.

This week, I can’t see any obvious transfers to make so I’m going to carry my free transfer into GW4. And it’s an almost identical starting XI that I’ll go with for GW3, only changing my goalkeeper.

Mark Flekken comes back into the side after his clean sheet against Fulham and, with a home fixture against Crystal Palace, I fancy him again this weekend. Matt Turner’s Forest travel to Old Trafford, which makes that decision even easier.

Three of my four starting defenders are playing at home and all face teams you would expect them to keep clean sheets against. Only Brighton at home to West Ham has questions marks where that’s concerned, as West Ham have looked pretty potent in front of goal after putting three past Chelsea.

It’s the same story in midfield. Mohamed Salah has the hardest fixture of them all but he does enjoy playing against Newcastle, with six goals and five assists in 13 meetings. Equally, Rashford has a great record against Forest with two goals and three assists in three games - I’m expecting him to get off the mark this week.

Up front, Erling Haaland gets the armband, with an away trip to newly-promoted Sheffield United. He scored twice on the opening weekend away at newly-promoted Burnley and having fired a blank last week, he’s due a goal.

There are obvious question marks over Joao Pedro, who is yet to start a game this term, but he’s a penalty taker when on the pitch and can cause problems for West Ham’s defence. He’s one player facing being sold before GW4, though.

Will's team

GK: Ederson

DEF: Botman, Chilwell, Estupinan

MID: Mbeumo, Rashford, Bowen, Saka

FW: Joao Pedro, Haaland (c), Wissa

An average 54 point haul last week left me worrying about being overtaken by the self-proclaimed king of fantasy football James Jones.

But I needn't have worried as even though his captain Mo Salah scored the flukiest rebound in history after missing a penalty and my skipper Erling Haaland only managed two points, which doubled to four, James still only beat me by three points leaving me on 142, a staggering two points above him overall.

My only transfer this week was a defensive one with Gabriel clearly not an automatic Arenal starter this season having played just 24 minutes in two games so he dropped out for Ben Chilwell who I was always going to bring in eventually but wanted to wait until after Chelsea's two tricky games against Liverpool and West Ham where they conceded in both. The England left-back only managed five goal contributions in 30 games last season but I fancy him to better those numbers this campaign (he already has one assist) in a Chelsea team that is definitely going to improve under Mauricio Pochettino.

My gamble on swapping Ederson for Matt Turner last week did not pay off with Forest conceding and City shutting out Newcastle. Don't expect to see anyone other than Ederson between the sticks for me for the rest of the season now.

My differential pick of Yoane Wissa continues to pay off so he starts up front again with Bees penalty taker Bryan Mbeumo behind him (great foresight from me last week!).

And Joao Pedro starts again up front. I expect points from him and Brighton team-mate Pervis Estupinan with the Seagulls hosting West Ham, who have not beat the south coast side in 12 attempts in all competitions.

I'm also keeping one eye on Marcus Rashford and Man United because if the player and team don't improve soon, he could be for the chop. If he can't pick up points against Forest, then will he ever?
