Brazil to win to nil –

Brazil have won their last two matches 2-0, while their 1-1 draw with Switzerland in their opening game was the only time they’ve conceded in their last eight matches.

A win and clean sheet looks likely against Mexico, who only beat Germany 1-0 in their opening game despite creating several chances, and who failed to score in their last match – a 3-0 defeat to Sweden.

Philippe Coutinho to score –

Coutinho has been Brazil’s best player at this tournament, scoring in both of their two opening games against Switzerland and Costa Rica.

The Barcelona playmaker has scored 10 goals in 12 matches for club and country, and has to be backed in this last-16 tie.

Thiago Silva to score –

Brazil’s first three goals in the knockout rounds of the 2014 World Cup were scored by centre-backs, with Silva bagging one of those in the quarter-final against Colombia.

The 33-year-old scored against Serbia on Wednesday, and is a good bet to again find the net against a Mexico side that looked vulnerable against crosses last time out.
