France to win and BTTS –

France have won 10 of their last 15 games, losing just once. They should pick off a dysfunctional Argentina side that only just scraped through the group, having narrowly survived qualifying.

Les Bleus, however, have kept clean sheets in just three of their eight games this year against attacks far weaker than Lionel Messi and co, so expect goals at both ends.

Kylian Mbappe to score –

Mbappe got three goals and four assists in France’s seven pre-tournament friendlies, before bagging the winner against Peru in their second group game.

Croatia’s three goals against Argentina were all scored by midfielders, so his position on the wing shouldn’t count against Mbappe – particularly with Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud struggling for form.

Over 2.5 Argentina cards –

France’s opponents have picked up six bookings in three matches so far, and that average is likely to increase on Saturday.

Argentina have received three or more yellows in 10 of their last 15 competitive internationals, including each of their last two.

Ever Banega to be carded –

Banega will surely keep his place following a sublime assist for Messi’s goal against Nigeria. The central midfielder is never far from trouble, however.

He has four bookings in his last five competitive starts for his country, and received 14 yellows and one red for Sevilla last season, five of which came in his last eight games before arriving in Russia.
