Serbia to win to nil –

Serbia have won three and drawn one of their last six matches and should make a winning start to their World Cup campaign against a Costa Rica side that have lost six of their last eight.

Given that Los Ticos failed to score in five of those defeats, it’s unlikely that there will be goals at both ends.

Aleksandar Mitrovic to score –

Mitro’s on fire, having bagged a hat-trick in Serbia’s final warm-up game – a 5-1 win over Bolivia last Saturday.

The 23-year-old has scored six goals in his last six games for his country, and is their likeliest scorer again on Sunday.

Adem Ljajic to score –

Ljajic also got on the scoresheet on Saturday, notching the second goal of the game against Bolivia.

That was the Torino winger’s third goal in six games for Serbia, and he’s got a good chance of adding to that total in what should be a one-sided win for the European side.

Giancarlo Gonzalez to be carded -

Gonzalez is a booking machine, picking up nine yellows and two reds for club and country last season.

The Bologna defender was booked in both of Costa Rica’s last two games, and is worth backing to pick up another card in their World Cup opener.
