Germany and under 2.5 goals –

Germany were poor in their opener, but will surely get back on track against Sweden, who lack the dynamism of Mexico.

Sweden had gone three games without scoring before being awarded a penalty via VAR against South Korea, and are unlikely to break down a German defence that are bound to sit a little deeper than they did last weekend.

Joachim Low’s side won’t run away with it, though.

They’ve failed to score more than twice in any of their seven matches since qualifying for the tournament, while Sweden only conceded nine goals in a tricky qualifying group that contained both France and the Netherlands and one over the course of two play-off legs against Italy.

Toni Kroos to score –

Kroos twice went close against Mexico, hitting the bar with a free kick and seeing a shot from distance whistle just wide.

In a team that tend to share their goals around, it’s worth taking a risk on the deep-lying midfielder.

Under 1.5 Germany cards

Germany had two players carded against Sweden, but are better behaved when things are going their way.

They’d picked up just one booking in their nine games before that – and even that was in the 87th minute.

Under 1.5 Sweden cards

The same goes for Sweden, who have only received more than a single yellow card once in their last nine matches – in the second leg of their play-off against Italy to secure their place at the tournament.

Given referee Szymon Marciniak gave a European-low of 2.8 cards per game during qualification, he's unlikely to reach for his pocket while officiating two such well-behaved teams.
