SPAIN V RUSSIA (15:00)

Draw –

Spain have been below their best so far in Russia and needed a late Iago Aspas goal to draw with Morocco and secure top spot in their group.

That result came after a 1-0 win over Iran and a 3-3 draw with Portugal in their opener.

Russia won two out of their three matches in Group A and, with the backing of a home crowd, should be able to force extra time.

BTTS: Yes –

Spain’s creative players can unlock any defence and, having netted in each of their three matches, they should do so again against Russia.

But individual errors have proved costly for La Roja, who conceded five goals in draws with Portugal and Morocco in the group stage.

Any mistakes will be punished Russia, who netted eight goals in their group – the second-most in the tournament.

CROATIA V DENMARK (19:00)

Croatia to win –

Croatia produced the performance of the tournament so far with their 3-0 win over Argentina in the second group game.

They followed that result with a 2-1 win over Iceland to end the group stage with a 100 per cent record.

Denmark’s fortuitous 1-0 win over Peru in their opening match remains their only victory of the tournament so far, and they are not in the same class as Croatia.

BTTS: No –

Denmark played out a 0-0 draw with France to secure their progression last time out.

Age Hareide’s side have shown little going forward so far in the World Cup, qualifying for the knock-out stages having scored just twice – the fewest in the tournament.

Croatia kept clean sheets against both Nigeria and Argentina and have conceded just one goal so far – a penalty in their final group game against Iceland last time out.
