JON RAHM

To win

To lead after the first round

Rahm is arguably in the best form of any player on the PGA Tour. He has three top-three finishes in his last five starts, including a win at the Irish Open last month.

The Spaniard kept his run going in his last start by finishing seventh at the WGC St Jude Invitational, but he should really have done better after opening with a 62 that left him three shots clear.

Rahm’s temperament has let him down in contention on several occasions, but the Spaniard’s talent is clear and he’s always worth a bet to make a fast start.

The world No. 7 ranks second in first-round scoring average on the PGA Tour this year, and he looks a great option to take advantage of our first-round leader offer.

MATT KUCHAR

To win

To lead after the first round

Kuchar leads all players on the PGA Tour in first-round scoring average this year and can go low again on Thursday.

The American was the joint-leader after round one at the Scottish Open last month and was T7 at the end of Thursday’s play at the Canadian Open a month earlier.

Kuchar opened with a 66 to finish in the top five after round one when this event was last held at Liberty National in 2013, and he could have won had he not closed with a 78.

The 41-year-old could easily win this week, having shaken off his reputation as a poor closer with two victories in the past nine months. That, plus the bonus of being paid out if he leads at the end of the first round, means he’s worth a bet.

DYLAN FRITTELLI

To win

To lead after the first round

If you’re looking to take a flier on a player at a bigger price, Frittelli looks a great choice.

The South African earned his first PGA Tour win at the John Deere Classic last month, having been T10 at the end of the first day’s play.

Frittelli was also T3 after the first round at both the Open last month and the Wells Fargo Championship in May, so it would be no surprise if he’s high on the leaderboard early on this week.

The 29-year-old ranks inside the top 25 in first-round scoring average even though this is his first full season on the PGA Tour.
