I tipped Reavie to be first-round leader at the Travelers Championship last week, but narrowly missed out as he finished a shot behind six players who tied for the lead on 64.

The American went on to win the event at TPC River Highlands, a week after he earned a T3 at the US Open.

Reavie ranks third in first-round scoring average on the PGA Tour this season and looks poised to make another fast start in Detroit.

He ranks first in driving accuracy and 18th in shots gained on approach to the green, meaning his game is nicely suited to this course and its narrow, tree-lined fairways.

Sabbatini has finished T43 and T27 in his last two starts, ending a run of four successive top 20s between April and May.

The 43-year-old ranks 32nd in total shots gains and 20th around the greens this year, though, so there’s every chance he posts another good result this week in what is a relatively weak field.

Sabbatini has made a habit of starting well this year, ranking 10th in first-round scoring average on the PGA Tour.

He hasn’t missed a cut in 11 starts since February, which proves how consistent he has been in the early rounds, and he’s worth a bet to start strongly again at what is his biggest starting price for a while.

Hughes fired an opening round of 64 at last week’s Travelers Championship to finish joint-top of the leaderboard at the end of day one.

The Canadian finished T51, following finishes of T14 and T8 in his previous two starts.

Hughes ranks inside the top 30 in first-round scoring average on the PGA Tour this year and has enjoyed a decent first half of 2019, having also finished T2 at the Corales Puntacana Championship at the end of March.

He looks a good bet to post a low score on Thursday, given that he has opened with a 68, 66 and 64 in his last three starts.
