JUSTIN ROSE

To win

To lead after the first round

Rose is looking for a third successive Turkish Airlines Open triumph and should make a fast start to the defence of his title this week.

The world No. 8 was a shot off the lead after the first round at Carya last year and has been starting well in recent events before fading.

Rose was joint-third after round one at the Italian Open last month and joint-fourth at the BMW PGA Championship in September, so it’d be no surprise if he comes out firing again this week before again dropping out of contention.

GEORGE COETZEE

To win

To lead after the first round

Coetzee fired a 64 to lead after round one at Carya in 2016, and was also inside the top five after Thursday’s play at Maxx Royal in 2013.

He looks a great first-round leader bet at that venue this week, given his current form.

The South African won the Vodacom Origins Final in his home country last week after being three shots clear at the end of day one, and he also shared the first-round lead at the Open de France last month.

MARTIN KAYMER

To win

To lead after the first round

Kaymer was in the top five after the first round at this event last year and can make another fast start this week.

The German has come through a run of disappointing results to finish inside the top 25 in his last two starts, including a T5 at the Open de France last month.

Kaymer was within four shots of the lead at the end of Thursday’s play in both of those events, so he looks a good bet to start well for the third time in a row.
