Back to win: Henrik Stenson –

Stenson finished second at the Houston Open in both 2013 and 2016, and the Swede’s recent form suggests this is his chance to finally win this event.

The 41-year-old also finished third here in 2009, and although he missed the cut last year, that result did come in the middle of a rare run of poor form.

Stenson is playing much better now. He’s finished eighth or better in three of his five 2018 starts, the last of which was at the Arnold Palmer Invitational two weeks ago, where he led for three days before falling away.

Stenson putted well at Bay Hill – a course that, like Houston, uses Bermudagrass – and has a great chance if he performs on the greens again.

Each-way shout: Russell Henley –

I successfully backed Henley to win this event last year, and fancy the world No. 56 to go very close to doing so again this week.

No player in the field has a better record in Houston than the 28-year-old, whose record over the past four years reads T7-4-T5-1.

A three-time winner on the PGA Tour, Henley’s proven that he has it in him to bring home a victory when contending late on, and this course plays perfectly to his strengths.

The American is a specialist on overseeded bermudagrass greens, and looks poised for yet another good result here.

Outside shot: Jason Dufner –

Houston is the kind of course that Dufner should really perform well at, with his T12 last year his highest finish at this event to date.

The 41-year-old is one of the PGA Tour’s top performers in Texas, with more top-25s in the state since 2012 than all but three players, and should improve upon his 2017 result this week.

Dufner’s had five top-20 finishes in his last nine starts, and just missed out on a place in the knockout rounds at the Dell Match Play last week, having lost to Louis Oosthuizen in a playoff after beating Jason Day and James Hahn.

In an event that has regularly been won by outsiders over the past decade or so, Dufner looks the best of the bunch.
