Back to win: Rafael Cabrera-Bello

Cabrera-Bello won this event in 2012 and has finished 11th or better in his last three starts here, including a T2 in 2016.

The Spaniard has always played well in the Middle East, having also earned three top-three finishes at the Qatar Masters since 2011, and he should fare well again on this links-style course.

Cabrera-Bello won the Scottish Open and finished T4 in the Open Championship in 2017, proving he can thrive when the wind is blowing.

The 34-year-old has struggled to close when contending in the past but came through under pressure in that win at Dundonald. He is worth backing this weekend at an event he clearly enjoys.

Each-way shout: Matt Wallace

Wallace finished T32 on debut at this event last year, but since then he has won three times on the European Tour and earned three other top fives.

One of those was a T2 at November’s DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, when he finished two shots behind winner Danny Willett.

The Englishman was among Europe’s most consistent players last season, and made a decent start to 2019 with a T16 in Abu Dhabi last weekend.

He ranked 35th in driving distance on the European Tour, which could be crucial this week as length off the tee is particularly important.

Outside shot: Alexander Levy

Levy finished fourth in this event last year having never previously bettered a T29 in 2015.

That was part of an impressive run at the start of 2018 in which he finished seventh or better in four of his first six starts, including a win at the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco.

Levy hasn’t recaptured that form since, but he did show some signs towards the end of last season with a T10 in Turkey in November.

The Frenchman has proven his class with five European Tour wins to date, and is worth a punt at a triple-figure price.
