Back to win: Francesco Molinari 20/1
Molinari fired a 64 on Sunday to win last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the Open champion can go back-to-back in Florida this week.
The Italian has four victories in the past 10 months and get hot very quickly, having put together a 1-2-T25-1-2-1 run between May and July last year.
Molinari’s elite ball-striking makes him an ideal fit for Sawgrass and he’s earned four top-10 finishes in his eight starts at the course.
The Ryder Cup star is the kind of accurate schemer that tends to win the PLAYERS. He’s also putting well this year, ranking 19th in shots gained on the greens on the PGA Tour.
Each-way shout: Marc Leishman 50/1
Leishman fits our profile of a PLAYERS Championship winner, and he should have a massive chance at Sawgrass this week.
With three wins on the PGA Tour in the past two years, the Australian is a proven closer when he gets in contention.
He has three top-five finishes in six starts this year, and he hasn’t missed a cut in 17 starts since July 2018, a run that includes a victory at the CIMB Classic in October.
The 35-year-old ranks 15th in shots gained on approach to the green on the PGA Tour this year, so he has the ideal game to his Sawgrass’ tight putting surfaces.
Outside shot: Si-woo Kim 80/1
Kim became the youngest player to ever win the PLAYERS when he triumphed at the age of 21 in 2017.
The South Korean’s price looks generous this week given that he’s had some decent results in recent starts and enjoys playing at Sawgrass.
Kim missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, but finished third at the Genesis and T4 at Pebble Beach in his two previous starts.
Ranking seventh in shots gained around the green, 24th in putting and 35th in total shots gained on the PGA Tour this year, the 23-year-old is in the kind of form to repeat that impressive win from two years ago.
