Here's who Jack Green is picking in his golf tips as the PGA Tour returns to Muirfield Village for the second week in a row.

Back to win: Patrick Cantlay

I tipped Cantlay to win at last week’s Workday Charity Open and he performed well, finishing T7 thanks to an impressive seven-under-par 65 on the final day.

With the PGA Tour returning to Muirfield Village for the second successive week, the defending Memorial Tournament champion looks a good bet once again.

Cantlay’s triumph here last year was one of three consecutive top-seven finishes in his last three starts at Muirfield Village.

Last week’s top three – Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas and winner Collin Morikawa – were also the top three in shots gained from tee to green, so that looks to be the most important stat to keep an eye on for the coming week.

Cantlay currently ranks seventh from tee to green on the PGA Tour in 2020 and was seventh in the same category at last week’s event, so he’s deservedly among the favourites here.

Each-way shout: Daniel Berger

Berger made a great return from lockdown by winning the Charles Schwab Challenge in June, and he followed that up with a T3 at the RBC Heritage a week later.

The world No. 28 has played sparingly this year but has been incredibly consistent, finishing in the top 10 in five consecutive starts dating back to February’s Phoenix Open.

Berger hasn’t finished better than T67 in two starts at Muirfield Village, but his last start at this venue was back in 2016. He’s a better player now and his recent form suggests he can improve dramatically upon that result.

The 27-year-old looks nicely suited to this venue. He ranks 17th in shots gained from tee to green on the PGA Tour this season, 10th in shots gained putting and seventh in total shots gained.

Outside shot: Billy Horschel

Horschel bounced back from a poor run of post-lockdown results to post a T7 at the Workday Charity Open last week, and now looks poised for another good performance in Ohio.

The American tends to play well at Muirfield Village, having finished inside the top 15 in four of his last six starts at the course, including a T9 at last year’s Memorial Tournament.

It hasn’t been the best year of Horschel’s career so far but he still ranks inside the top 30 in shots gained off the tee, total putting and total shots gained on the PGA Tour in 2020.

The 33-year-old is a five time winner on the PGA Tour, with two wins in the FedEx Cup playoffs in 2014 proving that he has the mettle to win in fields as strong as this one.
