EACH-WAY SHOUTS

Bernd Wiesberger

None of the favourites are appealing at their prices this week so it’s worth going with two each-way bets.

Wiesberger has won twice already this season at the Made in Denmark and Scottish Open, and he also finished T2 at the Irish Open in July.

Although he has yet to play at Green Eagle, the Austrian finished fifth in his last European Open start at Bad Griesbach in 2016.

Wiesberger has gone T32-T30-MC since he won in Scotland in July, but his success this season makes him worth a bet, particularly in a weaker field.

Alexander Levy

Levy won this event in 2016 and finished second in 2017 when it was first held at Green Eagle.

The Frenchman looks poised to contend again this year having followed up that runner-up finish with a T13 last year, a decent result that came amid a terrible run of form.

Levy has had a difficult season, having missed eight cuts out of nine between April and July.

There have been positive signs in his last three starts, though, as he finished T18 at the Czech Masters and T5 at the Scandinavian Invitation before missing the cut in Switzerland last week.

OUTSIDE SHOT

Cormac Sharvin

Sharvin has been in great form on the Challenge Tour, finishing sixth or better in three of his last four starts, including a second place at the Rolex Trophy a fortnight ago.

The 26-year-old closed with a 64 in Geneva to finish as runner-up and now looks primed to make his first big splash on the European Tour.

Sharvin has played in two European Tour events already this year, finishing T17 at the Kenya Open in March and T15 at the Irish Open in July.

The Northern Irishman has a good chance of earning his main tour card this year and is worth backing to get into contention this week.
