First-round leader betting tips for the PGA Championship

Koepka has won the last two PGA Championships and looks poised to make a strong start when defending his title this week.
The world No. 6 has struggled for form recently but looked back at his best just in time for major season at last week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
Koepka opened with a 62 that left him two shots clear at the top of the leaderboard and went on to finish joint-second.
The American held the first-round lead when he won this event in 2019 and could easily be up there again at the end of Thursday’s play.

Finau comes into the PGA Championship in fine form thanks to a couple of fast starts.
The American finished T3 at the 3M Open a fortnight ago, having been joint-third at the end of round one, and he held the solo lead after the first day at the Memorial Tournament a week earlier before going on to finish eighth.
It’s no surprise that Finau failed to win either of those events, given his habit of capitulating in the final round.
He ranks inside the top 20 for scoring average in rounds one, two and three this season, but is remarkably 178th when it comes to round four.
That makes him an ideal first-round leader bet this week, though, and if you back him to win with Betway you’ll be paid out if he is in front at the end of any of the four days.

Lewis has been very impressive since the PGA Tour returned in June.
The Englishman has gone T12-T32-T2 in his last three starts, the most recent of which was that joint-second finish at the WGC-FedEx last week.
Lewis has built a reputation on the European Tour as a strong starter, and he has lived up to that in his recent form by posting rounds of 68 or better at both the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The 29-year-old was the joint-leader after round one at the Honda Classic in March and can build upon last week’s excellent result by getting off to another hot start on Thurdsay.
