The putt he missed on 18 to send the tournament into a playoff was only a three footer, but you have to admire how we went for the win with his eagle putt. In doing so, he gave himself a tricky birdie putt and couldn't make it. I really feel for Dustin, it'll be a hard one for him to take.
I was talking to his coach, Butch Harmon before he went out on Sunday, and he said he felt like it was Dustin's time as he was so at peace with himself after all his personal issues.
Over the four days he produced some fantastic golf, contended well with conditions at Chambers Bay and came agonisingly close. But he can be a force in similar surroundings at St Andrews in the Open Championship in a month's time, a tournament he'll go into with bags of confidence after yet another strong showing here.

Jordan Spieth is really showing everyone not just what a great player he is but what a tough competitor he is. His experience and confidence from having already claimed a major championship showed down the stretch at Chambers Bay.
He's now emerged victorious in the Masters and the US Open - could he go on to secure an incredible Grand Slam?
What's exciting now is that Rory McIlroy has a definite challenger to his world number one status. The rivalry at the top of the game will be great to watch going forward.

There was a lot of unhappiness about the Chambers Bay course but as a spectacle, this year's US Open was a joy to watch.
Visually, the course was stunning. The real issue was the quality of the greens, which simply weren't up to standard. However, it produced a great leaderboard with many of the world's best players on top.
We look ahead now to the Open, starting July 12, where I highly doubt we'll be discussing the state of the putting surface on the Old Course as much as we have this week!
