Back to win: Francesco Molinari

Molinari looks the best value bet at the top of the market this week, having been one of the most consistent players in the world over the past year.

The Open champion has won four times in the last 10 months, with his most recent triumph coming at the Arnold Palmer Invitational a month ago.

Molinari arrives at Augusta in great form, after looking very impressive in a third-placed finish at the WGC Dell Match Play a fortnight ago.

Molinari’s strength – driving accuracy – is not particularly important at Augusta, but bogey avoidance is, and the Italian proved he can play mistake-free golf in his victory at the Open last year with a bogeyless final round.

Each-way shout: Bubba Watson

Watson is the ultimate course specialist, with his 12 career wins to date coming at just seven different venues.

The 40-year-old is a huge danger at any of his favourite tracks, and Augusta – where he won green jackets in both 2012 and 2014 - is clearly one of those.

Watson endured a difficult couple of years after winning the Northern Trust Open at the start of 2016, but he won three times in 2018 and is now in decent form, having missed just one cut so far this year.

With two T4 finishes in his last seven starts, the world No. 17 looks ready to contend once again at Augusta and is a great each-way bet.

Outside shot: Ian Poulter

Poulter was struggling to keep his PGA Tour card a year ago, but won at the Houston Open to book his place at the Masters and has been in good form ever since.

The world No. 32 has earned four finishes of sixth or better this season, including going close but finishing third at both the Dubai Desert Classic and WBC – Mexico Championship.

Poulter finished seventh at Augusta in 2012 and sixth in 2015, and he’s only missed the cut once in 13 trips to this course to date.

The Englishman isn’t the kind of player who will be affected by the pressure of the Masters, and has a chance this week if he gets hot with the putter.
