What types of golf tips do Betway provide?

For every event we cover throughout the year, the resident experts at Betway Insider will produce at least three tips: a player to win, an each-way shout and an outside shot. In some cases they may tip a player to win and two each-way shouts, a player to win and two outsiders, or two each-way shouts and an outsider.

Their back to win tip is simple: this is a player they believe should be considered the best bet to win the tournament outright.

An each-way shout is a player who they believe has a strong chance of winning, or at least placing.  

An outside shot is a player who has been priced up as a longer shot to win the tournament but whom our expert believes has a very good chance.

Aside from our normal tips, we also publish first-round leader tips for many events throughout the year.

These are players who our experts believe have a great chance of finishing top of the leaderboard after the first round of the tournament.

How do you bet on golf?

When you’re ready to place a bet, your first option is to head to the Betway Insider website to read through our experts’ golf tips. Each article will have a link to the sportsbook, where you can then place your bet.

The most popular market on the sportsbook for golf betting is the winner market, in which you place a bet on a player to win the tournament outright.

Another popular market is the first-round leader bet, which allows you to back a player to end the first round of the tournament at the top of the leaderboard.

In both markets you are able to back a player outright or each-way. When you back a player each-way you are placing two bets at reduced odds – one on them to win, and one on them to place. The sportsbook will set out how many places are available for each event – it can be anywhere from three to five.

Other popular markets include top-five, top-10 and top-20 finishes, in which you back a player to finish within a certain number of places of the winner.

You can also bet on the winning margin, players to win particular rounds, and other markets such as the top English player at the tournament.
