2:10 DONCASTER

This handicap for juvenile horses is as competitive as ever, with early prices showing around 5/1 the field.

Ten of the 15 horses have winning form, so they won’t be hiding much from the handicapper, despite the relative inexperience of the field.

The Richard Spencer stable had the winner of this race last year with Stay Classy , and this year they have one of the five horses that hasn’t won a race – Too Shy Shy  from stall 1.

She does have some interesting form, though, having been aimed high at the Group 2 Queen Mary at Royal Ascot.

She could be on a favourable mark at a big price.

Elsewhere I like the look of the consistent Insania   who is going up in the weights but has shown good winning and placed form in her six runs so far.

2:40 DONCASTER

Vivid Diamond  improved for the longer trip at Chester just over a week ago and might be open to more at this trip.

She probably has lots to find in order to trouble the market principals but still might rate a value bet at the prices.

The market shows Dame Malliot  and Enbihaar  as the likeliest winners.

The latter, a talented John Gosden inmate, seeks a hat-trick following an easy win at Glorious Goodwood and is a clear, but unoriginal, choice.

3:15 DONCASTER

This is valuable race for two-year-olds and usually produces a tight finish.

Harpocrates  was runner-up in a better race at York last time out and was just caught near the post over a trip of seven furlongs.

This contest is half a furlong shorter and he deserves respect, but he looks opposable at the prices.

I like the look of Manigordo  from the Richard Hannon stable. He’s improving from experience and can build on his second at Ascot last time out.

Repartee  could also show up from the head of the market and a kind draw.

3:45 DONCASTER

Nine previous winning two-year-olds go to post for this mile contest.

Cloak Of Spirits  was an impressive winner on debut but has similar form to Powerful Breeze  , who is almost triple the price.

For that reason, we should be backing the Hugo Palmer-trained filly.

It’s also worth mentioning the other once-raced contender in the market, Anna Of Sussex  , who is possibly being underrated for winning a lowly contest at Brighton.

She should outrun her place as rank outsider.
