With £10,000 up for grabs on Thursday, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Goodwood and Galway to get you started.

15:10 GALWAY

The first race of 4 To Win is this handicap over one mile and half a furlong. Waitingfortheday is the representative of Joseph O’Brien and is the only horse to hold Group Race entries. 

Honor Shore won this race last year off a mark of 76 and bids to win this race for a second time off a current mark of 85. Tommy Hogan’s mount finished last in his last time out, but that run should put him spot on for this race, which has no doubt been the target.

The favourite for last years race, Tony The Gent, could only manage a fourth place 12 months ago, but he comes here again off the back of a good third at Killarney and runs off a mark 3lbs lower than in his attempt last year.

16:10 GOODWOOD

The Telegraph Nursery is a handicap over seven furlongs for two-year olds and was won in 2017 by Billesdon Brook, the 2018 1000 Guineas heroine trained by Richard Hannon.

Hannon has two in this field, Willa  and Pitcher  , who both need to step up on what they’ve achieved so far, but they’re at the bottom of the weights and have experienced jockeys on their backs.

Mark Johnston trained the 1-2-3 in this race in 2016 and saddles the impeccably bred Fred  , who struggled on his first start but has since won his next two at Leicester and Haydock.

Saeed Bin Suroor won this race ten years ago with Black Snowflake and he saddles Picture Frame  , the mount of the in-form Oisin Murphy, although he will have to overcome a wide draw in stall 16.

16:55 GALWAY

The feature race of the day at Galway is the Galway Hurdle over 2m and has been won by champion trainer Willie Mullins in two of the last three years.

This year, the master of Closutton saddles four with his stable jockey Paul Townend riding Shanning , who won easily at Killarney last time out.

The coveted prize has stayed in Ireland since 2010, when Overturn won for Donald McCain.

Garo De Juilley  is the only UK contender this year as he bids to win the Grade A Handicap for Sophie Leech, who recently won a big handicap hurdle in the UK when Grapevine won the Betway Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen.

Band of Outlaws was an easy winner of the Fred Winter Hurdle at Cheltenham and should go close, providing he gets his jumping act together.

17:20 GOODWOOD

The closing race at Goodwood is a 5f handicap that has been won by a single-figure draw in eight of the last ten renewals. There has also only been one winning favourite in that time.

Jungle Speed is the sole French contender, and he bids to give his trainer Fabrice Chappet his second winner in the UK. Jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot has been booked to take the reins.

This race has been won by a northern based trainer in five of the last 10 renewals and Richard Fahey’s mount Get The Rhythm is the only horse relied on to take the prize back up there this year.
