The Stewards Sprint Handicap (Consolation Race for The Stewards Cup) has a current field of 24 going to post for this six-furlong dash.
Richard Fahey saddles six runners headed by Chester specialist Gabrial The Saint SP and his draw in stall nine is a huge advantage.
Betway Ambassador Andrew Balding, who trained the winner of this race two years ago, has mentioned that this has long been the target for Ballyquin SP, who is the mount of the in-form James Doyle. Can this be a plan well executed?
A drop in trip for Tommy G SP may eke out extra improvement for the team of Jim Goldie and Silvestre De Sousa, who have had success when teaming up on the Sussex downs racecourse in years gone by.

The second leg of Betway’s 4 To Win competition is the Summer Handicap over 1m6f. The market is headed by King’s Advice SP, who continued his impressive record for Mark Johnston when winning a £75,000 race at the July Festival, taking his tally to seven wins in eight starts since joining the team from France.
Johnston also teams up Frankie Dettori with Charles Kingsley SP, who won well at Newmarket last week. Will they be successful in striking while the iron is hot?
Corgi SP is having his first run since a gallant fourth at Royal Ascot and runs off the same mark of 99. He’ll have to improve to be in the thick of things against more experienced horses here, but it’s not out of the realms of possibility.
Outbox SP was well supported in the market at Newmarket last month and looked dangerous as the pace quickened. However he may just have needed that run as his challenge petered out in the final furlong. With that run and experience behind him, can he get closer this time?

In recent years, The Fillies’ Nursery Handicap has been a race for the bookies with the last five winners returning at 16/1, 16/1, 8/1, 16/1 and 20/1.
Graceful Magic 12/1 won at odds of 33/1 at Sandown Park first time out, but she did struggle when stepped up in grade at Royal Ascot in her next race.
On her most recent start, she ran very well at Kempton Park in a novice race, doing all of her best work at the finish, suggesting that a stiff six furlongs that she’ll face here could be right up her street.
Oisin Murphy has been booked to ride Rosadora 7/1 for Ralph Backett, who was narrowly beaten at Doncaster two weeks ago, but that run came off the back of a very good run in a Listed race over C&D.
John Fahy takes a very rare ride for Richard Hannon when he pilots Falconidae 9/1, who returns to Newmarket following her fifth-placed effort in a maiden at the July Festival.

One of the biggest betting heats of the year is The Stewards Cup; a frantic dash past the idyllic Sussex downs backdrop over a six-furlong trip.
The current favourite Khaadem SP is a group horse running in a handicap, and from his low draw of three could be very hard to peg back if he gets out quickly. He has a similar profile to the 2015 winner, Magical Memory, who came from the same yard of Charlie Hills.
As stated in a previous blog at the end of June, this looks to have been the target all season for Justanotherbottle SP, who was narrowly touched off in this last year, and the Declan Carroll team have booked James Doyle for the ride.
Following two runs this season where he finished down the field, he has now slipped to a mark of 97 which is 4lbs lower than last year.
Gunmetal SP was unlucky in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot, although an extremely wide draw in stall 24 may not help his chances. His day will come.
Other horses to look out for are Stone of Destiny SP.
