With £10,000 up for grabs on Saturday, here is Chad Yeomans' best advice for the races at Haydock and Newmarket.

13:55 HAYDOCK

The first leg of the Betway 4 To Win competition this week is a London Mile Qualifier that offers attractive prize money.

Scofflaw   is aiming to win for the second time in six days as he bids to win four in a row. Harry Bentley, who partnered him to victory at Chester last Sunday, takes the ride again. Trainer David Evans is clearly looking to strike whilst the iron is hot!

Mustarrid  is having just his third run for trainer Ian Williams since moving from Doug Watson’s yard, but has caught the eye on both occasions in races arguably better than this. PJ McDonald is a jockey in fine form and will be the perfect partner to the colt who showed an appreciate for cut in the ground as a three-year-old.

14:30 HAYDOCK

William Haggas has won the Dick Hern Stakes twice in the past 10 years and again has a live chance as he saddles the antepost favourite, Miss O’Connor  . Oisin Murphy, who is on the search for winners to maintain his place at the top of the Jockeys’ Championship, takes the ride on the filly who won by 11 lengths last time out.

Ralph Beckett has a great record with fillies over the years and he saddles Feliciana De Vega  on her seasonal debut. She may have had a setback or two, hence only seeing her season start now, but she left the impression she was very talented when she took her maiden at Newmarket from six lengths, then followed up with a Listed Race success in France.

15:40 HAYDOCK

When it comes to August, those in contention for the Jockey’s Championship will travel the lengths and breadths of Britain to find winners, and the bookings that Oisin Murphy is landing suggests he’s seriously out for his first title. He rides Fantasy Keeper  for Michael Appleby, who hasn’t been seen since landing a handicap at Sandown Park in June. He’s much improved this season and that’s due to now being trained as a sprinter.

Kevin Ryan has saddled 64 winners at Haydock in the past five years and he relies on Last Empire  , who is unbeaten in two starts this season. The Pivotal filly, who has won both her starts at Hamilton, will need to step up to challenge this experienced field. She does, however, look full of potential and she may well be up to the challenge. 

15:45 NEWMARKET

The final leg of the Betway 4 To Win is the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.

Godolphin won this five years running between 2009 and 2013, for two different trainers and with four different jockeys aboard. This year, their currently-top trainer Charlie Appleby saddles Light Blush   who won on her debut at Newmarket before failing to get up with a late lunge in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown.

Ultra Violet  surprised many on her debut at Newmarket at the end of June. She trounced a field by eight lengths with complete ease that day, but that form hasn’t worked out overly well, with the four horses to come from that race all getting beaten again.

Sir Michael Stoute hasn’t won this race since 1992 but saddles the once-raced Soffika  who won at Pontefract on her debut, despite drifting in the betting prior to the race. She was very green that day and would have learned a lot from that experience.
