The opening race of this week's 4 To Win is a 0-150 Handicap Hurdle over 2½m, won last year by the Nicky Henderson-trained Champ.

Henderson saddles the antepost favourite DOWNTOWN GETAWAY  , who last year appeared to need a bit more time to mature. He comes here off a very workable mark of 131, which I’m sure his master handler thinks he’s better than.

Stable jockey Nico de Boinville takes the ride and he would have had the pick of all three of the Henderson runners.

The second leg of this week's 4 To Win is a very competitive Listed Handicap Hurdle. Henderson has won this race three times in the past 10 years, and his yard have really started to fire in the past couple of weeks.

He saddles three in this race but I quite like the look of EPATANTE  , who disappointed at the Cheltenham Festival where she was expected to win Mares’ Novice Hurdle.

As a five-year-old she is, however, open to plenty of improvement, and I’d be surprised if she’s not better than her mark of 137 under jockey Aiden Coleman.

The Ladbrokes Trophy Chase is the feature race of the weekend and is often won by a horse that has plenty of class alongside plenty of stamina.

MISTER MALARKY  really needed the run at Ascot a few weeks ago and will be stripped much fitter than that blow-out as he bids to give his trainer, Colin Tizzard, a third win in this race in the past four years.

Nicky Henderson also has a splendid record in the race and I think his BEWARE THE BEAR  , who is incredible dour and stays all day, is the best of his mounts.

The final race of the day at Newbury is a 2m Handicap Chase which will be no doubt run with plenty of pace.

This is such a tough race to find a winner - a case could be made for well over half the field.

BUN DORAN   hasn’t been seen since May and shoulders top weight, but does have a very good young jockey on him claiming a valuable 7lb.

Nicky Henderson mount WHATSWRONGWITHYOU   has plenty of appeal on his seasonal debut off a mark of 142. He won here as a novice hurdler and wasn’t disgraced in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham last March.
