With £10,000 up for grabs on Friday, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Newbury and Southwell to get you started.

13:50 NEWBURY

The Handicap Chase is over two-and-a-half miles and looks set to be a fantastic race. Recent winners prove it race has been a great stepping stone.

KALASHNIKOV  returned to action with a good second at Aintree in the Old Roan Chase, but does have top weight to contend with. If he is successful here off 155, he should be considered for the Ryanair and other such races.

GLEN FORSA  went off at 9/2 for the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival in March and shipped his rider at the first.

He was also hugely disappointing on his last run, having been pulled up at Aintree after his jumping fell to pieces. But I’m sure he’ll have been intensely schooled and has plenty of class.

15:35 NEWBURY

The closing Handicap Hurdle is run over three miles and has been won by a five- or six-year-old in seven of its last 10 editions.

Nick Williams saddles ONE FOR THE TEAM  , who has a progressive and unexposed profile that fits the bill.

He was a good second on his seasonal debut behind Big Shark, who won again on Wednesday at Hereford, and his mark of 126 looks workable.

DOLPHIN SQUARE  needed every yard of the 2m5f trip at Wincanton last time and is of obvious appeal after being upped to three miles for the first time.

15:45 SOUTHWELL

This 0-70 handicap has two horses running that were both successful there on Wednesday in Suitcase ‘N’ Taxi  and SILVERTURNSTOGOLD .

The latter is of more appeal, as he absolutely tanked through the race and could have been called the winner almost instantly. The winning jockey Elisha Whittington is back in the saddle again, seeking a hat-trick of wins on the Tony Carroll gelding.

16:15 SOUTHWELL

The closing race on the Southwell card is a very competitive 0-55 handicap and plenty of horses are trying fibresand for the first time.

Of those, I’m a fan of John Ryan’s ADASHELBY .

Despite having form figures of 96760, some of those runs have had moments of promise. His trainer is very shrewd and his opening mark of 55 looks like a one he’ll be able to win off. Kieran O’Neill takes the ride.
