The first leg of 4 To Win is the Ascot Underwriting Chase, a novices’ limited handicap over 2m 3f.

Paul Nicholls’ horses have usually needed their first run to get going this season, but I do expect Darling Maltaix  to put up a bold show under talented conditional Lorcan Williams.

The pair teamed up to win at Ascot last December, when they powered away for a decisive four-length victory in a competitive handicap.

He may have found a nice opening on his chase debut at a course his owner loves targeting horses at.

Clondaw Castle was good enough to run in both the Arkle and the Maghull Novices’ Chase at Aintree last season and it would be no surprise were he to bolt up off his current mark of 144.

He’s clearly thought of in a much higher regard and this isn’t the strongest assignment he’ll have this term.

Alan King has won this race three times in the last ten years, including both of the last two with Fidux and Elgin.

He saddles top weight Lisp ,who was very consistent last season and ended his campaign with a solid fifth place in the Country Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Didtheyleaveuoutto  could be well handicapped off 135 and I expect him to go close as a previous course-and-distance winner.

The Sodexo Gold Cup is the final leg of 4 To Win and it’s one of the most competitive races of the weekend.

Gary Moore won this race with Traffic Fluide last year and has targeted Larry at this year’s run.

He’s an improving horse and could run into a place.

Kim Bailey has been among the winners already this term and he saddles Vinndication , who looked like he was only going to improve for a step up in trip.

He found things happening too fast for him over 2½ miles at Championship pace at the back end of last season, but this will be much more to his liking.
