The 2019 Flat season draws to a close on Champions Day at Ascot. With the amazing prize money on offer, it really is no surprise to see the fields as competitive as they are.
Leg one of the Betway 4 To Win is the Fillies’ and Mares’ race over a trip just shy of a mile-and-a-half.
Aidan O’Brien has won this race in both of the last two years, but it’s his fierce rival John Gosden who has the stronger-looking hand, with current favourite Star Catcher 6/4.
She is also the mount of Frankie Dettori, and there is no better jockey to have on your horse on the biggest of stages.
Jockey Harry Bentley is riding with confidence and his mount Antonia De Vega 8/1 has a solid chance. She’s improving and is lightly-raced, which could help at the end of a long season.

The Balmoral Handicap closes 4 To Win for the Flat season.
It’s not an easy race for punters, despite the market liking the look of recent Cambridgeshire winner Lord North 4/1 for Gosden and Dettori.
It’s very rare for Aidan O’Brien to have a runner in this race, and his mount Amedeo Modigliani 100/30 could be well-handicapped.

So Beloved 50/1 will relish conditions and can run into a place at huge odds.
