14:10 DONCASTER
This is the largest field of the day at Doncaster and therefore the most open race.
Favourites have a shocking record, with no winning market leader this decade. Four of the last seven winners of this race have returned at prices bigger than 10/1.
Two of those, Spangled at 14/1 and Realtra at 25/1, were trained by Roger Varian.
The consistent Newmarket-based trainer has Mot Juste and Farzeen entered here.
The former has been highly-tried since winning the Oh So Sharp at Newmarket 11 months ago, but could bounce back.
ANGEL’S HIDEAWAY has been down the placings in her last three runs, but actually most of those defeats didn’t have a huge margin to the winner.
She can go well for John Gosden.
14:40 DONCASTER
This is a handicap for older horses over the St Leger trip.
Mark Johnston has trained two of the last seven winners of the race and sends Charles Kingsley to post under Frankie Dettori.
He ran at Haydock on Saturday and placed at a big price in a large field. This is a completely different test and he might be opposable.
THEGLASGOWWARRIOR seemed to hate the heavy ground at Hamilton last time, so that performance cannot be a true reflection of his abilities.
I think that run could have added a few points to his price here and that makes him a value bet with conditions more to his liking.
15:10 DONCASTER
The Group 2 Doncaster Cup looks like another very good opportunity for STRADIVARIUS in his all-conquering run of staying race victories.
He’ll be a very popular pick with the vast majority of 4 to Win players.
Max Dynamite might be the one for the forecast.
15:45 DONCASTER
This is a race that Soldier’s Call won last year, so we might expect to see a classy individual emerge from the eight juveniles that line up here.
A’ALI returns from a couple of outings in France, where he won another Group 2 to add to his Norfolk Stakes success in the same bracket at Royal Ascot.
He’s a very worthy favourite under Dettori, who could rack up another 2019 summer day of multiple winners, with good chances across the board.
The O’Brien contender Alligator Alley will give him most to do.
Flaming Princess might be a good each-way shout in a race without much depth.
