The opening leg of the 4 To Win is a competitive Fillies’ Handicap over 1m2f on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile.

With only a few of this 14-strong field proven on soft ground, there are likely to be some improvers coming from out of the pack.

One who sneaks under the radar is Torochica , for trainer John Best.

She has shaped with promise on each of her four starts to date and looks to still be improving. She will certainly run better than her current mark of 81 suggests she will.

Elsewhere, the improving Ghaziyah  could prove hard to peg back if she gets into a rhythm from the front under PJ McDonald.

As ever, the Sales races attaches big fields with their huge prize funds and this race doesn’t differ.

Following a string of good efforts in both Group One and Group Two races, Under The Stars will take all of the beating here.

She should be different class to these rivals, but she has had a couple of hard races. Will it prove one race too many?

Further down the race card, the very shrewd Philip McBride saddles the twice-raced Intimate Moment who hasn’t been seen his maiden victory on his latest start 87 days ago.

It seems like he's been saved for this race. I expect him to go well off a feather weight.

15:10 Ascot

The Challenge Cup Handicap is another of those seven-furlong handicaps at Ascot and one that has attracted the same protagonists.

Last year’s winner Raising Sand  is attempting to win this year's renewal off a 12-pounds higher mark, but with conditions set to be testing, it will be a big feat for him to do so.

Ripp Orf , who always runs well at Ascot, is still handicapped to run a huge race and will again be ridden patiently under Gerald Mosse.

At a bigger price, So Beloved  will relish conditions and can go well with the in-form Angus Villiers in the saddle.

The final leg of 4 To Win is the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes for Fillies and Mares over a mile.

A high-class field appears before us with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Veracious , last seen when successful in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket in July, heading the market.

With champion jockey-elect Oisin Murphy on board, she should take all of the beating. She is still improving and has been campaigned in accordance.

Lavender’s Blue is a course-and-distance winner and has improved rapidly this season, with her latest victory coming in the Betway Atalanta Stakes at Sandown Park in August.

She will appreciate any cut in the ground and will also run a big race if her season hasn’t taken its toll on her.
