13:50 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: BRELAN D'AS

Second choice: Activial

Here we have 11 scheduled runners who are all quite closely-matched on their best form.

We’ve only had two winning favourites in this contest over the last decade, although five second-favourites have won during that period. There has only been one double-figure winning SP in that time, so focus towards the head of the market.

Paul Nicholls won this last year with Frodon, and he can make it back-to-back wins in the race with BRELAN D'AS.

Barry Geraghty takes the ride on this eight-year-old who has been in good form this season. Expect another big run.

14:30 LINGFIELD

TOP PICK: IMPART

Second choice: Pushkin Museum

A wide open Betway-sponsored contest at the Surrey track, where a case can be made for the vast majority of the field one way or another.

Last-time-out winner Pushkin Museum hails from the in-form Paul D’Arcy stable, and has to be respected under leading All-Weather Championship jockey Adam Kirby.

I’m going to (reluctantly) oppose him with IMPART who looks well-handicapped after being a beaten favourite a fortnight ago.

15:00 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: BIRCHDALE

Second choice: Brewin'Upastorm

BIRCHDALE has been all the rage in the betting markets for this race since it was revealed that stablemate Champ swerves Trials Day.

Brewin'Upastorm is highly-rated by Richard Johnson and deserves plenty of respect, not just based on what he’s shown on the track but also the reputation he has with connections.

This should be a two-horse race and I ever so slightly favour the Nicky Henderson inmate.

15:15 DONCASTER

TOP PICK: ART MAURESQUE

Second choice: Federici

A classy handicap chase, where close attention must be paid to the dry Doncaster ground that has meant they’ve had problems attracting horses of late.

Likely favourite Dingo Dollar wouldn’t want it too dry, and it’s worth checking his participation before placing your entry (he was pulled out at Wetherby in November on similar going).

I really like the chances of ART MAURESQUE, who ran under similar conditions at Ascot when beaten under a length in November. He has excuses for two runs at inadequate trips, on softer going, either side of that.

He’s a very good each-way bet and a decent selection for the purposes of this competition.

15:15 Doncaster: Art Mauresque
{{::outcome.FormattedDecimal}} {{::outcome.Numerator}}/{{::outcome.Denominator}} 9/1
