With £10,000 up for grabs on Saturday, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Newmarket and Newbury to get you started.

14:05 NEWMARKET

Top pick: Raise You | Second choice: Khuzaam

This race often goes to a fancied runner with seven of the last 10 winners all starting at 3/1 or shorter.

Andrew Balding looks to have his strongest ever team of three-year-olds for this season, including a live Derby contender with Bangkok. Another of his big hopes for success this term is RAISE YOU, who is my top pick for the Betway Fairway Stakes.

He easily disposed of the field at Newbury in April on his comeback run this season after finishing second by the shortest margin on his only start at two years old.

He was due to run in the Dante Stakes this week, but connections have opted for an easier option here on a surface that won't be as quick as York.

The unexposed Khuzaam is expected to improve for his first run of the season but looks to have enough raw talent to chase home the likely winner.

15:00 NEWBURY

Top pick: The Trader | Second choice: Riviera Nights

The London Gold Cup Handicap is often won by an improving horse who tends to end up being Group class.

With such a lightly-raced field going to post, it's very hard to know who will keep finding improvement, with the obvious choice being Solid Stone for Sir Michael Stoute. He is a bit short in the betting, though, and I feel there are a few others that appeal at bigger prices.

The first of those is THE TRADER who, if he hadn't veered across the track at Chelmsford last time out, would have arguably won a competitive affair which, on form alone, would have halved his price here.

He looks a typical Mark Johnston horse who is as tough as teak, and if he gets an easy lead then he may be hard to peg back under James Doyle.

The improving Riviera Nights looks likely to improve for this step up in trip and should be backed each-way, too.

15:15 NEWMARKET

Top pick: Naughty Rascal | Second choice: He'zanarab

Last year's Betway Handicap went to the Richard Hannon stable and, with his two fancies both available at good each-way prices, I can see the trophy going back to Lambourn once again.

The first selection, NAUGHTY RASCAL, ran very well on his comeback when finishing fourth behind Top Breeze, who reopposes today. He travelled well throughout the race and looked as though he blew up slightly in the final furlong, suggesting he'll come on plenty for that run.

The other Hannon inmate is He'zanarab, who will probably start as the biggest outsider of the field. However, I don't think that reflects his true chance.

He was progressive as a two-year-old and his seasonal reappearance in the Greenham on soft ground over 7f would not have been his cup of tea having fared much better last time out in a very competitive sprint handicap at the Guineas meeting.

He still showed signs of greenness that day and, if he can bound out from the gates and be ridden handy, he'll be closer at the finish than the prices suggest.

15:40 NEWBURY

Top pick: Romanised | Second choice: I Can Fly

The feature race on the card at Newbury is the Lockinge Stakes, which was won last year by an Aidan O'Brien filly, Rhododendron.

The Ballydoyle master throws two darts at this year's race with ante-post favourite Le Brivido (who could be a class apart) and a filly, I CAN FLY.

She has taken time to come to hand in her racing career, but the talent is clearly there and the fact she's racing as a four-year-old suggests her trainer still feels there are races to be won with her.

Good ground and a straight mile seem to be her optimum conditions and she can go close under 1000 Guineas-winning rider, Wayne Lordan.

Equally, everything is falling into place for Romanised, whose comeback run was full of promise. The lightly-raced son of Holy Roman Emperor will appreciate the return to a mile, which was the distance he won the Irish 2000 Guineas over last year.

He is also entered in two Group One races at Royal Ascot, which tells you how much his trainer thinks of him.
