I’m really looking forward to getting over to Liverpool this week. There are some interesting narratives that I’ll be keeping my eye on.

There are plenty of horses that completely disappointed when running recently at Cheltenham. I’m not sure if they had hard races or if the form simply isn’t working out, but we’ll find out more this week.

It looks like it could be too soft for Banbridge to run. He’s been pulled out due to soft ground before and I’m not sure they would want to take another risk, but this is a smaller field and a weaker race than what he was going to run in at Cheltenham, so they might roll the dice.

With that, Saint Roi will love the ground and it’s about time he stepped up in trip now. He ran well enough in the Arkle to finish third and he should be there or thereabouts.

I thought Zenta was a real eye-catcher in the Triumph behind Lossiemouth and I’m surprised she’s not shorter than her current price. She travelled so well during the race and stayed on up the hill.

She’s my idea of the winner in what isn’t the strongest-looking Grade 1.

The Bowl looks to have a bit of everything, doesn’t it?

They’ve all had hard races at Cheltenham, perhaps bar A Plus Tard  who was pulled up by Rachael [Blackmore] after Ahoy Senor’s fall hampered him badly. He was going well at the time and might be the freshest horse in the race.

However, after watching the Ryanair back, I think I want to give Shishkin one more chance.

I have to say, I’m surprised he’s not got any headgear on, as he looked in need of it at Cheltenham. I thought he stayed on really well up the hill and this longer trip could eke out more improvement in him. Aintree gives you more opportunity to take part in a race, whereas at Cheltenham your chance could be shot pretty early in the hustle and bustle of it all.

Obviously, it goes without saying that the most exciting horse of the day is Constitution Hill . He did what plenty thought he was going to in the Champion Hurdle and I think he’ll do something similar again. He can be ridden how he wants.

Nico [de Boinville] can let him bowl along or he can sit in behind. Whatever he chooses to do, he will be able to find gears to put this race to bed with ease. I love him and I’m excited to see what path they go down next season.

Betway are paying seven places in the Foxhunters’ Chase and I’m going to mention two that I think will go well.

The first few in the market have obvious chances and won’t be far away, but I was impressed with the way that Its On The Line travelled at Cheltenham. He found himself a little too far back, but he flew up the hill after being miles behind going to the last. I don’t think he’ll be that far back here and, if he takes to the fences, he could go close under Derek O’Connor.

I also think Envoye Special could run better than his price suggests. He was travelling well behind Magic Saint at Wincanton last time before making a howler at the third last.
