The Betway ambassador previews his six runners at Doncaster, Chelmsford and Del Mar on Saturday.

Spanish Mission

We were so delighted with Spanish Mission’s run in the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday where he finished a very good third. Craig Williams gave him a great ride that gave him every chance.

I’m very thankful to the whole team out there who got him to the race in great nick and his run really justified our trip to the other side of the world with him.

It’s a long way off, but it would be great to get him back there in 12 months’ time.

Doncaster runners

Filbert Power SP is making his debut. He’s quite a big horse who has taken his time. He’s got a bit of style and I think he’ll be a good horse in time.

I don’t know how he’ll handle the slower conditions, but if he does, it wouldn’t surprise me if he ran well (12:20).

Achelois SP will love the ground. She’s been in great form and been improving all season. She seems in good nick at home and, although she has a bit to find on the ratings, it looks an open race. With the conditions set to suit, she could run into a place (12:55).

King’s Lynn 3/1 has been great this season. He was a good second last time and, although he has a 3lb penalty to carry, we hope he can go well at this level (14:05). He’s in good form at home.

Oasis Gift SP should have come on for his last run. He’s been working well and could be there or thereabouts (15:10).

Other runners

Whimsy SP is having her first start (Chelmsford, 16:00). She goes alright at home but will be better over longer trips in time.

Queen Supreme 40/1 runs in the Fillies’ and Mares Turf, which was her second preference (Del Mar, 20:59). She has some good form in South Africa, but she is going up in trip and the big question mark is around the extra distance.
