The Betway ambassador previews his seven weekend runners at Lingfield, Newcastle and Newbury.

Friday at Lingfield

Napper Tandy SP (13:15) ran well last time. I think he’s on a fair mark although he is going to need to some luck to win this race. With 15 runners around Lingfield in an apprentice race, you could run it 15 times and get 15 different results: it’s really wide-open.

We do have Harry Davies riding though, who is a very promising young rider and he’s able to claim the full 7lb allowance which should be a huge help.

Friday at Newcastle

Imperial Fighter 7/4 (13:30) is a very smart horse with high class form in the book from last year. He’s worked well with Hoo Ya Mal recently, and we saw him run well in the Craven earlier in the week, so I’m hoping that he’s got a great chance on what he’s shown at home.

Nate The Great 11/1 (16:15) has just been solid all winter. He’s got a bit to find on official ratings, but this track plays to his strengths. He has a bit more on his plate this time, but he has solid place claims if he runs his race.

Friday at Chelmsford

Flag High SP (14:10) is a work in progress. He’ll be winning races in the future, but he’s still learning his game and can still be quite keen. I’d like to see him relax early in his race.

Red Mirage SP (14:45) is new to us. His work has been pretty solid, but he is still a bit behind in his coat. He had some good form early on when he was with Mark Johnston but he could be starting to find his feet again. We’ve gelded him and that could help him get back his best.

Group One Power SP (15:55) has done very well over the winter. He’s a few kilos heavier than normal, but he’s run well fresh and wouldn’t surprise me if he went well here.

Saturday at Newbury

Invite 9/1 has never been the most exuberant work horse at home but she’s done plenty and I’m happy with the way she looks as she starts her campaign. We know she likes give in the ground, so as long as it doesn’t dry up too much, she’ll have a chance (13:50).

Majestic Glory 10/1 tailed off towards the backend of last season, but I’ve been happy with her during the spring. You never know where you are with trials, they’re always tough to gauge. On her best form, though, she can be competitive (14:25).

Zabeir SP is a nice horse but he’s still a bit raw. This is historically a very good race, and you never know what you could be up against (16:45).

Berkshire Breeze SP was second first time out. He shaped with promise on the all-weather and he’ll enjoy going on turf. Again, it’s always possible you could be up against a very good one in these races, but you simply don’t know. He does have the natural ability to run well (17:20).

Roscioli SP is in great form. He’s a handy horse on his day. Conditions will suit him fine and in this wide-open race, I think he’s got a fair chance (17:55).

Saturday at Lingfield

Dance At Night is stepping up in trip which should suit him. He’s still improving and has solid place claims (19:30).
